Banana Cashew Cardamom Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 cups raw unsalted organic cashews, soaked overnight
  • 3 large frozen bananas
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • Pinch of Celtic or sea salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Toss everything in a high-speed blender and blast on high until smooth and creamy.
  2. Tweak maple syrup and cardamom to taste
  3. Enjoy immediately or chill for 30 minutes if the texture is too soft

BENEFITS

  • Cashews: One of the lowest-fiber nuts, they are packed with vitaminsminerals, and antioxidants. These include vitamins E, K, and B6, along with minerals like copperphosphoruszinc, magnesiumiron, and selenium, all of which are important for maintaining good bodily function.
  • Banana: Bananas are an excellent source of potassium and vitamin B6, fiber and carbohydrate, and supply some vitamin C. Since they have a lower water content than most fruit, bananas typically have more calories as well as a higher sugar content compared to other non-tropical fruits.
  • Maple Syrup: pure maple syrup is not only high in antioxidants, but every spoonful offers nutrients like riboflavinzincmagnesiumcalcium, and potassium. According to Helen Thomas of the New York State Maple Association, maple syrup has a higher concentration of minerals and antioxidants, yet fewer calories than honey.
  • Cardamom: Is an herb. The seeds and oil from the seeds are used to make medicine. Cardamom is used for digestion problems including heartburn, intestinal spasms, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diarrheaconstipationliver and gallbladder complaints, and loss of appetite.
  • Celtic Salt: Can help Alkalize the body. Balance blood sugars. Eliminate mucus buildup. Build immunity. Improve brain function. Increase energy. Provide electrolyte balance. Promote restful sleep.
  • Sea Salt: Most table salt also has added iodine, an essential nutrient that helps maintain a healthy thyroid. Sea salt and table salt have the same basic nutritional value, despite the fact that sea salt is often promoted as being healthier. Sea salt and table salt contain comparable amounts of sodium by weight.
